Veidot un attīstīt sabiedrības vides apziņu un ētiku, tai skaitā īstenot vides izglītības programmas (tai skaitā izglītība ilgtspējīgai attīstībai, vides zinātne) un veicināt sabiedrības līdzdalību vides un dabas aizsardzībā. Uzlabot dzīves kvalitāti vietējā līmenī - noteiktas kopienas vai apkaimes robežās. Īstenot pasākumus, lai uzlabotu ekonomisko infrastruktūru un kapacitāti, tai skaitā ceļus, finanšu pasākumus, uzņēmējdarbības programmas, tehniskās un vadības konsultācijas, palīdzības programmas lauku attīstībai, tai skaitā starptautiski. Nodrošināt pilsonisko tiesību un cilvēktiesību aizsardzību, patērētāju tiesību aizsardzību un produktu kontroli, jebkura veida diskriminācijas novēršanu saistībā ar dzimumu, rasi vai etnisko izcelsmi, reliģiju vai pārliecību, invaliditāti, vecumu vai seksuālo orientāciju, nodrošināt juridisko palīdzību, tai skaitā konsultācijas un palīdzību domstarpību risināšanā un ar tiesu saistītos jautājumos.
