Project aim was to design a family's dream house in the hillside area of Sigulda. The building is planned to be located at the top of the hill, overlooking the forested slopes. A family home should be able to comfortably accommodate three generations and provide some of the client's work needs. In addition, client's wish was to have an orangery room with western light, and improving landscaping, connecting the building with a sauna on the shore of the pond. The requirements defined by the client were very general, so during the development of the project, several options were developed, from 250 m2 to 450 m2 layouts, in search of the ideal solution that would be able to benefit both the client's wishes and the budget.

Aim of the project was to develop a building renovation project, which includes the internal layout of the premises being usefully redistributed, and the detailing of the historical facades of both buildings being highlighted. As part of the project, the re-planned premises will be rebuilt into modern high-class apartments. The project foresees the creation of 16 new apartments, of which 3 are two-story, and 4 large-area attic apartments. The facades of the building will be renewed by unifying the architecture of the two individual buildings, making it more substantial in the street-scape, regardless of its relatively small size. Rebuilt roof using classic skylight constructions, giving utility to the mansard floor and classic elegance to the roof.

Reconstruction of a historical villa - Foiniki (Φοινίκι), Greece Aim of the project was to develop a building conservation and reconstruction project, where the roof load bearing structure must be replaced, and interior re-planning should be carried out, adapting the building to modern life. The main task of the project is to design the refurbishment, so that the design is respectful to all that is historic, while everything new is designed in modern fashion, not imitating the historical. The building has historically served as a mountain village building, where, according to traditional Greek traditions, animals lived on the lower floor, while the owner and his family lived on the upper floor. As part of the re-planning, both floors were connected with an internal staircase, and an extension was developed, which houses a modern bathroom. If anyone is interested in chatting about this subject, please let us know!
An Architect ARB LAS. I design modern high value residential schemes for experienced property developers, in luxury residential markets across Europe, optimizing their built costs whilst maximizing the properties value.
I’ve started to gather information about the differences between legal systems in construction, in different countries. The current list is not big, so I'm interested in speaking with any architect/professional that would be interested in explaining how their country's architecture/construction system works. Anything and everything – how the system is structured; what the architect is and isn’t permitted to do; what type of other professionals have to be involved apart from architect, engineers, builders, and clients; etc. The goal is to make a comprehensive comparison between as many systems/countries as possible, so would appreciate it if anybody would be interested in talking about it. Please share! :) #architect #share #construction #engineers #legal #development #developer #propertymanagement #propertyindustry
